LOVO AI alternative: what happened to Genny and where to go
LOVO, with its Genny editor, was a popular AI voice generator for videos and ads. In 2026 its site stopped working, and many former users are now looking for their projects and for a replacement.
This guide sums up what can be verified, from court records and our own checks, and shows how to re-voice your scripts for free with SuperClonica, using voices whose consent is clear.
What happened
When we checked on 30 and 31 October 2026, lovo.ai and genny.lovo.ai returned an HTTP 402 error with a page saying the deployment is paused, instead of the service. In the federal lawsuit Lehrman v. Lovo, Inc., filed in New York in May 2024 by voice actors Paul Lehrman and Linnea Sage, Lovo, Inc. filed a suggestion of bankruptcy on 27 May 2026, and the court stayed the case the next day. We found no shutdown notice or export tool from the company.
What the lawsuit is about
The voice actors allege that recordings they made for Lovo were used to create AI voice clones without proper consent; these are allegations, not findings. In July 2025 the court dismissed the federal trademark claims and most copyright theories but let New York right-of-publicity, consumer-protection and contract claims go forward. The case has been stayed since the bankruptcy filing.
If you had projects in Genny
We cannot confirm any way to recover projects or audio from Genny. Keep your scripts, which are your own work, and look for exported files in your downloads, cloud drives and video editor projects. For questions about paid subscriptions, the bankruptcy case is the official place to look. Then re-voice what you need.
Re-voice your scripts for free
Install the free SuperClonica engine with python -m pip install superclonica-cpu, save each script as a text file and run superclonica --text-file script.txt --voice M3 --lang en --normalize --output voiceover.wav. It runs offline on an ordinary processor with no character limit, in 31 languages, so your work no longer depends on one website staying online. Hear narrator and announcer voices free on their pages first, with 30 to 100 characters and no account.
Voices with clear consent
The ten stock voices of the engine, M1 to M5 and F1 to F5, come with the Supertonic 3 model and can be used commercially within its OpenRAIL-M license. For your own or a colleague’s voice, record a clean phrase of 5 to 10 seconds of someone who agreed, keep their written consent with your files and train the voice in the studio; training on your own NVIDIA graphics card is free.
