Voicemail greeting generator: a calm AI voice for your phone

A voicemail greeting or a phone menu is heard by every caller, and recording it yourself means a quiet room, several takes and a new recording every time the hours change. An AI voice reads the text in a calm, even voice, and a change is just an edited sentence.

A short greeting fits into the free online test on any SuperClonica voice page. This guide shows which voices suit a phone line, how to write a greeting that callers understand, and how to voice a whole phone menu offline.

Voices for a phone greeting

Most catalog voices were recorded in Russian and keep a slight accent in other languages, so listen to your greeting in your language before you choose.

  • Pleasant Announcer: low and restrained, made for instructions.
  • Business Male Voice: low, moderate intonation, for presentations and explanations.
  • Eva: a neutral, restrained female voice for an address.
  • Lilia and Nika: even, pleasant female voices.
  • The ten stock voices of the model, M1 to M5 and F1 to F5: free in the engine.
  • For a joke greeting for friends, a character voice such as the free Gollum.

A short greeting for free

On the page of any voice, type your greeting, 30 to 100 characters, choose the language and press Voice it. In a few seconds you can listen and download the recording, with no account. A typical greeting, such as “Hi, you have reached Anna. Please leave a message after the tone.”, fits within the limit.

Write a greeting callers understand

Record each menu prompt as a separate file, so you can update one prompt without touching the others.

  • Say who the caller has reached in the first sentence.
  • Keep it short: under 20 seconds is usually enough.
  • Write phone numbers digit by digit with spaces, such as 5 5 5, 0 1 2 3: digits written together are read as one large number.
  • Menu options in a fixed pattern: “For sales, press 1. For support, press 2.”

A whole phone menu offline

For a longer greeting or a whole phone menu, install the free SuperClonica engine: python -m pip install superclonica-cpu, and voice each prompt with one command: superclonica --text "Thank you for calling. Our office is open from nine to six." --voice F2 --lang en --normalize --output greeting.wav. The result is a mono 16-bit WAV file. If your phone system asks for 8 kHz audio, convert it with an audio editor or with ffmpeg: ffmpeg -i greeting.wav -ar 8000 -ac 1 greeting-8k.wav. The engine runs offline on an ordinary processor, with no character limit.

A greeting in your own voice

Callers trust a greeting in a familiar voice. Record a clean phrase of 5 to 10 seconds of yourself, or of a colleague who agreed, create a voice in the studio and train it on a computer with an NVIDIA graphics card; training on your own hardware is free. Then every new greeting is typed, not recorded. Without a suitable card, order the voice on the exchange from an author who trains it.
