Zvukogram alternative: Russian text to speech without tokens

Zvukogram is a popular Russian online service for voicing text with neural voices. You type or paste text in the browser and pay for the result with tokens. It works well, and for a long book or a steady stream of videos the tokens add up.

SuperClonica takes another route: a free engine that voices text on your own computer with no character limit, and a catalog of voices, many of them Russian, that you buy once or get for free. This guide compares the two honestly and shows how to try ours.

What Zvukogram offers

According to its home page, Zvukogram has more than 140 Russian voices and over 3,000 voices in 150 languages, plus transcription, sound effects and AI music. It works in the browser and through an API, and is paid with tokens, where one token equals one rouble. Voice cloning is listed among its services.

How SuperClonica differs

SuperClonica’s engine runs offline on an ordinary processor, so a long text costs nothing extra. The ten stock voices are free; catalog voices, including more than 150 made from Russian recordings, cost $2.99 once or are free, and the file stays yours. Every voice speaks 31 languages, Russian included. If you prefer a cloud API, the SuperClonica Speech API has a free key with three minutes of audio a day.

When Zvukogram is the better choice

Choose Zvukogram if you need one of its 150 languages that SuperClonica does not have, such as Chinese, want sound effects and music in the same place, or cannot install anything and only voice a few short texts. SuperClonica pays off when you voice a lot, want it offline, or need a character voice or your own.

Try it and switch

Open any voice in the catalog, type 30 to 100 characters and hear them free, with no account. For whole texts install the free engine with python -m pip install superclonica-cpu, download the voice file and run superclonica --text-file text.txt --voice voice.json --lang ru --output text.mp3 for Russian, or --lang en for English. Long texts are split at natural pauses and joined into one file.

Your own voice

To voice text in your own voice, train it in the SuperClonica studio from a clean recording of 5 to 10 seconds on a computer with an NVIDIA RTX 20-series or newer or a GTX 16 graphics card. Without a suitable card, order the voice on the exchange and an author trains it for you.
