GUIDE

Russian text to speech with voices recorded in Russian

Most of the SuperClonica catalog was made from Russian recordings: more than 150 voices, from calm narrators and conversational male and female voices to game, anime and film characters from Russian dubs. That makes it one of the richest sources of native-sounding Russian voices for Supertonic 3, the open text-to-speech model behind SuperClonica.

This guide shows how to pick a Russian voice, hear it say your own line for free, write Russian text that reads well, and voice long Russian texts offline on your own computer.

Russian voices in the catalog

Filter the catalog by the language of the recording to see only voices made from Russian.

  • Narrators and announcers for videos, reviews, news and audiobooks.
  • Conversational male and female voices for blogs, explainers and dialogue.
  • Game characters from the Russian voice-over, including more than 90 Dota 2 heroes.
  • Anime, cartoon and film characters from Russian dubs.
  • Kids voices for fairy tales and school scenes.

Try any voice in Russian for free

On the page of any voice, choose Russian next to the text field, type a phrase of 30 to 100 characters and press Voice it. You hear your words in that voice in a few seconds and can download the recording. No account is needed.

Write Russian that reads well

Check unusual names and stress in the free test before voicing a long text.

  • Write ё where it belongs: it removes the most common misreadings.
  • Numbers can stay as digits: the engine spells them as Russian words, but it does not inflect them, so write forms like «двадцать первого» in words.
  • Chat shorthand such as «спс» or «гг» is expanded into words for you.
  • Short sentences and clear punctuation give the most natural intonation.

Unlimited Russian offline

For long texts, download the voice file and install the free SuperClonica engine: python -m pip install superclonica-cpu. Then voice a Russian text file with one command: superclonica --text "$(cat text.txt)" --voice voice.json --lang ru --output text.wav. It runs on an ordinary processor, offline, with no character limit and no monthly fee.

Russian voices in other languages

Every voice speaks all 31 languages of Supertonic 3, so a Russian narrator can also read English, Spanish or German with the same timbre and a slight Russian accent. That suits dubbing your own videos into other languages in a voice your audience already knows.
