AI podcast voice: intros, ad reads and whole episodes
A podcast needs more voice work than it seems: an intro and an outro, segment transitions, sponsor reads, episode trailers, sometimes a whole solo episode written as a script. An AI podcast voice does this from text, and a mistake is fixed by editing a sentence instead of booking the studio again.
SuperClonica has conversational voices that sound like a person talking rather than an announcement, a free online test and a free engine that narrates long scripts on your computer. This guide shows which voices suit a podcast, how to write for the ear and how to voice a whole episode offline.
Voices for a podcast
Every voice speaks the 31 languages of Supertonic 3. Most were recorded in Russian and keep a slight accent in other languages, so for an English show listen to the voices recorded in English first, and voice a full paragraph before you decide.
- Conversational Narrator: a neutral male narrator, not too low, not too high, for retellings and personal stories.
- Energetic Narrator: mid-low with clear emphasis, so reviews and first-person stories sound alive.
- Artyom: young and low, ordinary conversation with no theatrics.
- Sofia and Alice: even, conversational female voices.
- Maya: personal stories and everyday conversation that sound real. Free.
- Girl and E-girl: conversational female voices recorded in English.
Test a line free online
On the page of any voice, paste a line from your script, 30 to 100 characters, choose the language and press Voice it. In a few seconds you hear how your intro or ad read will sound and can download the recording. No account is needed.
Write a script that sounds spoken
Spell out unusual names and brand names the way they are pronounced, and listen to them once in the free test.
- Write the way you talk: short sentences, contractions, direct address to the listener.
- Commas and full stops are your pauses; the voice breathes where the punctuation is.
- Two hosts? Use two voices and alternate them line by line.
- Tell listeners that the voice is generated: honesty keeps their trust.
A whole episode offline
Install the free SuperClonica engine: python -m pip install superclonica-cpu. Save the script of a segment as a text file and voice it with one command: superclonica --text-file intro.txt --voice F3 --lang en --normalize --output intro.wav. The engine splits long text into pieces by itself, --normalize brings every segment to the same loudness, −18 LUFS, and the result is a 16-bit WAV file for any audio editor. It runs offline on an ordinary processor, with no character limit, so a whole episode costs nothing extra.
Your own podcast voice
A podcast is remembered by its voice. To make that voice your own, record a clean phrase of 5 to 10 seconds of yourself or of a co-host who agreed, create a voice in the studio and train it on a computer with an NVIDIA graphics card; training on your own hardware is free. Then you can voice ad reads and corrections in your own voice without a microphone. Without a suitable card, order the voice on the exchange from an author who trains it.
