Reddit story voice for TikTok and Shorts
Story videos follow a simple formula: a post read aloud over gameplay or satisfying footage, with big captions. The voice carries the whole video, so a flat robotic one makes people scroll away.
SuperClonica has natural conversational voices, a free online test and a free engine that voices long stories on your own computer, at the pace you want. This guide shows how to prepare the text, how to voice it and how to stay on the right side of the rules.
Voices for story videos
Use one voice for the post and another for the comments, so viewers hear who is speaking.
- E-girl and Girl: conversational female voices recorded in English, good for first-person stories.
- Conversational Narrator: a neutral male narrator for retellings.
- Maya: a free conversational female voice; it was recorded in Russian, so test it in your language.
- Young Analyst: a clear voice for the comment section and updates.
Test a voice free online
On the page of any voice, paste the first line of the story, 30 to 100 characters, choose the language and press Voice it. In a few seconds you can listen and download the hook of your video, with no account.
Prepare the story for the ear
The engine already spells out common chat shorthand such as “pls” or “idk” in English and six other languages, but forum acronyms are safer written out.
- Write abbreviations the way they are said: “AITA” becomes “Am I the jerk”, “TIFU” becomes “Today I messed up”.
- Write ages and genders in words: “my brother, twenty-five,” rather than “(25M)”.
- Remove links, edit notes and usernames, or say them in words.
- Cut the story into short sentences; the hook should fit in the first five seconds.
Voice long stories offline
Install the free SuperClonica engine: python -m pip install superclonica-cpu. Save the story as a text file and voice it with one command: superclonica --text-file story.txt --voice egirl.json --lang en --speed 1.15 --output story.mp3. The --speed option sets the pace; story videos usually sound better a little faster than the default of 1.05. The MP3 goes straight into CapCut or any editor, where automatic captions can follow the audio. It runs offline on an ordinary processor, with no character limit, so a long story with updates costs nothing extra.
Whose story is it
Posts belong to the people who wrote them. Ask the author for permission or write your own stories, credit the source, and remove names and details that could identify real people. Platforms ask creators to label realistic synthetic content and do not reward mass-produced, repetitive uploads, so add your own take, editing or commentary, and check the current rules where you post.
