An alternative to SaluteSpeech for individuals

SaluteSpeech, Sber’s cloud speech recognition and synthesis, was a popular way for individuals to voice Russian text through an API. According to Sber’s documentation, since 15 July 2026 new packages and the renewal of the free Freemium plan are no longer sold to individuals; packages bought earlier keep working until they expire or run out.

The free SuperClonica engine voices Russian and 30 more languages on your own computer, with no account, no package and no limit. This guide shows how to move your voicing to it and what changes along the way.

What changed in SaluteSpeech

If your free or prepaid limit ends soon, now is a good time to try an offline engine.

  • Since 15 July 2026, Sber no longer sells new packages to individuals and no longer renews the Freemium plan.
  • Packages bought earlier remain available until they expire or their limit runs out.
  • Plans for companies are listed separately in Sber’s documentation.
  • The service is a cloud API: texts go to the provider and an account is required.

Hear the voices free online

On the page of any voice, type a phrase of 30 to 100 characters, choose the language and press Voice it. In a few seconds you hear how your text would sound, with no account.

What SuperClonica gives instead

Texts never leave your computer, which matters for personal notes, work documents and client projects.

  • Free and offline: once installed, the engine needs no account, no internet and no packages.
  • 31 languages, including Russian, Ukrainian, English, German, Spanish, Polish and Turkish.
  • Ten stock voices are free; more than 170 catalog voices, many recorded in Russian, are bought once.
  • Your own voice: trained once in the studio from a clean 5 to 10 second recording.

Move your voicing offline

Install the engine with python -m pip install superclonica-cpu, save your text to a file and voice it with one command: superclonica --text-file text.txt --voice F3 --lang en --output voice.mp3. For apps, the Docker image answers POST /synthesize with a WAV file, so a script that called a cloud API needs only a small change. In Russian, write ё where it belongs and numbers as words, because digits are read as plain numbers and are not inflected.

When a cloud service is still better

A cloud service is still the better choice for speech recognition, which SuperClonica does not do, for managed telephony at large scale, or when you cannot run anything on your own computer. For voicing text, an offline engine saves both the limits and the bills.
