AI voice changer or text to speech: which one you need
People who search for an AI voice changer often want one simple thing: a line said in another voice. There are two ways to get it. A voice changer turns your own speech into a different voice. Text to speech reads typed text in the voice you chose, without a microphone.
SuperClonica is text to speech, not a voice changer. This guide explains the difference honestly, shows when each one is the better tool, and how to try the text-to-speech way for free.
What each one does
Neither is better in general: they solve different problems.
- A voice changer converts your live or recorded speech into another voice; your timing, emotion and pauses stay yours.
- Text to speech turns typed text into speech in a chosen voice; you need no microphone and no acting.
- SuperClonica is text to speech: a catalog of voices, a free online test and a free offline engine. It does not change your microphone voice in real time.
When a voice changer is the right tool
Choose a voice changer when you talk live, in a call, a game or a stream, and want to sound different while you speak; when your own acting matters, with laughs, shouts and exact timing; or when you want to keep a performance you already recorded. Text to speech cannot replace that.
When text to speech works better
This is the job SuperClonica is built for: type the line, pick a character, an announcer or your own trained voice, and get the recording.
- You have no microphone, no quiet room, or do not want your own voice and accent on record.
- You need the same character voice in hundreds of lines, months apart.
- You fix a line by editing a sentence instead of recording it again.
- You need the same voice in another language: every SuperClonica voice speaks the 31 languages of Supertonic 3.
Try the text-to-speech way
On the page of any voice, type a phrase of 30 to 100 characters, choose the language and press Voice it; in a few seconds you can listen and download it, with no account. For many lines, buy the voice once and install the free SuperClonica engine: python -m pip install superclonica-cpu, then superclonica --text "Hello, I am your new voice." --voice my-voice.json --lang en --output hello.wav. It runs offline on an ordinary processor, with no character limit.
The same rules for both
Whichever tool you use, do not imitate a real person without their consent and do not use another voice to deceive anyone. SuperClonica requires consent and rights to the recordings for voices trained or ordered on the platform. To get your own voice in text to speech, record 5 to 10 seconds of yourself and train it in the studio on a computer with an NVIDIA graphics card, or order it on the exchange.
