AI voice for edits: one line that lands on the drop

An edit is a short fan video cut to music: an anime character, a film villain, a favorite scene, slowed down, with one line of voice over the drop. A quote, an inner monologue, a quiet threat. The line is what people remember, and an AI voice lets you write your own instead of reusing the same clip as everyone else.

SuperClonica has anime and film character voices, deep and calm voices, free to try online, and the 30 to 100 characters of the free test are just the length of an edit line. This guide shows which voices fit, how to write the line, how to put it into your edit and what to keep in mind with fan-made voices.

Voices for edits

Light Yagami, Levi Ackerman, Rei Ayanami, Anime Heroine and Anna were recorded in Russian and may keep a slight accent in English, so listen in your language first.

  • Light Yagami and Levi Ackerman: low and restrained, for a calm monologue or a cold one-liner.
  • Saruman, Chancellor Palpatine and Darth Vader: deep, commanding voices recorded in English, for a villain edit.
  • Rei Ayanami, Anime Heroine and Sexy voice: female voices, from a quiet, flat answer to a lively reaction; Sexy voice was recorded in English.
  • Anna: a calm, fairly low female voice for sad and nostalgic edits.

Voice your edit line free online

On the page of any voice, type your line, for example “I am not the villain of this story. I am the one who ends it.”, choose the language and press Voice it. In a few seconds you can listen and download the recording, with no account.

Write a line for an edit

Turn the music down under the line: the voice should sit on top of the beat, not inside it.

  • One or two short sentences: an edit is cut to the beat, and a short line lands on the drop.
  • To put one word exactly on the beat, voice the line in pieces and place each piece in your editor.
  • Write names and numbers the way they should sound; digits are read as plain numbers.
  • Match the line to the character: Levi gives orders, Light explains his plan, Rei answers in as few words as possible.

Put it into your edit

Import the recording into CapCut, Alight Motion, After Effects or any video editor, place it on the drop and lower the music under it. Echo and reverb in the editor give the familiar edit sound, and a lower pitch makes a voice even deeper. To voice many lines, install the free engine with python -m pip install superclonica-cpu, then run superclonica --text "I am not the villain of this story. I am the one who ends it." --voice M3 --lang en --speed 0.9 --seed 3 --output line.wav. --speed 0.9 makes the delivery slower and heavier; change --seed for another take of the same line.

Fan edits and fair play

Edits are fan works, and the character voices in the catalog are fan-made, not official: fine for fan edits, but say it is an AI voice and do not make a character say hateful or misleading things. For edits of real people, such as athletes or actors, do not fake their voice; use a narrator voice instead. If you earn money from your channel, use the ten stock voices, M1 to M5 and F1 to F5, free under the OpenRAIL-M license, or your own trained voice.
