Rei Ayanami TTS: a quiet voice for your lines

Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion says very little, and that is exactly why her lines stay with fans: short answers, long silences, almost no emotion on the surface. Fan edits, quiet dialogue scenes and calm memes are built on that restraint.

The SuperClonica catalog has a fan-made Rei Ayanami voice for Supertonic 3. This guide shows what it sounds like, how to write lines that fit her and how to voice whole scenes offline.

What the Rei Ayanami voice sounds like

It is not endorsed by the creators of the series or its voice actors.

  • A high female voice, but very restrained.
  • Short answers and quiet dialogue, no loud emotions.
  • Recorded in Russian, so it keeps a Russian accent in English, Japanese and other languages.
  • A fan-made voice: not the voice of any voice actor.

Make her say a line free

On the voice page, type a line of 30 to 100 characters, choose the language and press Voice it. In a few seconds you can listen and download the recording for your edit, with no account.

Write lines that fit her

Write your own lines rather than quoting the series word for word: they sound fresher and keep the script out of it.

  • Very short sentences, often a single statement.
  • Full stops, not exclamation marks: she does not raise her voice.
  • Plain words and few adjectives.
  • Leave silence between lines in the edit; the pauses are part of the character.

Quiet scenes offline

For a long edit or a dialogue scene, buy the voice once, download its file and install the free SuperClonica engine: python -m pip install superclonica-cpu. Save the lines in a text file and voice them with one command: superclonica --text-file rei.txt --voice rei.json --lang en --output rei.wav. The engine splits long texts at natural pauses and runs offline on an ordinary processor; voice the other character with a second voice and cut the two together.

Fan fun, not deception

Use the voice for fan edits, fan dubs, memes and personal projects within the SuperClonica terms. Do not present the audio as an official clip or as a real voice actor’s words.
