Pennywise TTS: make the clown say anything

Halloween is the season of horror parodies, creepy shorts and haunted-house soundtracks, and few villains are as recognizable by voice as the clown from Stephen King’s IT. A text-to-speech voice lets him say whatever line your video needs.

The SuperClonica catalog has a fan-made Pennywise voice for Supertonic 3. This guide shows what it sounds like, how to write lines that suit the clown, and how to voice whole scenes offline.

What the Pennywise voice sounds like

It is a fan-made parody voice, not the voice of any actor, and it is not endorsed by the rights holders.

  • High and playful, with a lot of play in the intonation.
  • Made for horror parodies and short creepy dialogue.
  • Not a deep villain bass: for that, look at Doom, Night Stalker or Darth Vader in the catalog.
  • Recorded in Russian, so it keeps a Russian accent in English and other languages.

Make him say a line free

On the voice page, type a line of 30 to 100 characters, choose the language and press Voice it. In a few seconds you can listen and download the recording for your video, with no account.

Write lines that suit the clown

Write your own lines rather than quoting the films: they sound fresher and keep you clear of copying the script.

  • Friendly first, threatening second: a cheerful invitation that turns creepy.
  • Questions to the listener: the clown likes to ask.
  • Exclamation marks for the playful part, an ellipsis before the scary turn.
  • Short sentences: the voice is at its best in short, lively lines.

Whole scenes offline

For a whole parody scene or a haunted-house loop, buy the voice once, download its file and install the free SuperClonica engine: python -m pip install superclonica-cpu. Save the lines in a text file and voice them with one command: superclonica --text-file clown.txt --voice pennywise.json --lang en --output clown.wav. The engine splits long texts at natural pauses and runs offline on an ordinary processor; add reverb and a carnival tune in your editor.

Scary fun, not real fear

Use the voice for Halloween videos, parodies, fan projects and decorations within the SuperClonica terms. Do not use it to frighten people who did not agree to it, for example in calls to strangers, and do not present the audio as a clip from the films.
