Hatsune Miku TTS: a speaking Miku for your lines
Hatsune Miku is the most famous virtual singer in the world, and fans often want her to say something rather than sing it: a greeting for a stream, a line in an animation, a reaction in an edit, a birthday message for a friend.
The SuperClonica catalog has a fan-made Miku speaking voice for Supertonic 3. This guide explains what it can and cannot do, how to voice your line free online and how to make many lines offline.
A speaking Miku, not a singing one
Think of it as Miku talking between songs: greetings, reactions and short dialogue.
- Hatsune Miku is a singing voice released by Crypton Future Media for Vocaloid software in 2007.
- The catalog voice is a fan-made speaking voice: high, anime style, recorded in English.
- It reads text with normal intonation; it does not sing melodies.
- For songs, use Crypton’s official singing software.
Voice a line free online
Open the page of the Miku voice, type a line of 30 to 100 characters, for example “Hi everyone, Miku here! Thanks for watching!”, choose the language and press Voice it. In a few seconds you can listen and download it, with no account.
Lines that suit her
Listen to the same line with two or three seeds and keep the take with the brightest delivery.
- Short, cheerful sentences suit the high voice best.
- Use an ellipsis for a small pause before a punchline.
- Write numbers and names the way they should be said.
- The voice speaks 31 languages, Japanese included, but it was recorded in English and may keep an English accent.
Many lines offline
For an animation or a series of clips, buy the voice once, download its file, install the free engine with python -m pip install superclonica-cpu, write the lines in lines.txt and run superclonica --text-file lines.txt --voice miku.json --lang en --seed 3 --output miku.wav. Line breaks add no pause, so voice each line as its own file when you need to time them. Everything runs offline on your computer, with no character limit.
Fan work and Crypton’s guidelines
This voice is fan-made and not endorsed by Crypton Future Media or the original voice provider. Crypton publishes guidelines for non-commercial fan works with its characters; follow them, say that the voice is AI-generated, and do not use it in ads, in paid products or to present a clip as official.
