Anime voice generator: text to speech in anime character voices

An anime voice generator reads your text in the voice of an anime character or an anime-style heroine. Fans use it for dubs and edits, memes, visual novels, game mods, stream alerts and VTuber-style content.

This guide shows how to find an anime voice in the SuperClonica catalog, voice your own line for free, and voice as many lines as you need on your computer with Supertonic 3 and the SuperClonica engine, in Japanese or in any of 31 languages.

Anime voices in the catalog

The Anime category has character voices and anime-style voices; the search finds them by name in any spelling.

  • Characters from popular series, such as Naruto Uzumaki, Levi Ackerman, Light Yagami, Rei Ayanami and Miyuki Takara.
  • A vocaloid-style voice in the spirit of Hatsune Miku.
  • Anime-style girl and heroine voices for original characters.
  • Every voice page has a demo, a description by its author and its languages.

Voice a line for free

On the page of any voice, type a phrase of 30 to 100 characters and press Voice it. You can listen to it and download the recording without an account.

Japanese and other languages

Supertonic 3 speaks Japanese, so an anime character can say your line in the original language: write the text in Japanese and use the language code ja. The same voice also speaks English, Korean, Spanish, Russian and the other languages of the model, 31 in total. Chinese is not supported yet.

Unlimited lines on your computer

Download the voice file and install the free SuperClonica engine with python -m pip install superclonica-cpu. A line in Japanese is one command: superclonica --text "よろしくお願いします!" --voice anime.json --lang ja --output line.wav. On your own computer there are no limits, and no graphics card is needed.

How to make a line sound like anime

Anime delivery is expressive. The text sets most of it.

  • Write lines with exclamations and short pauses: anime characters rarely speak in long, flat sentences.
  • In Japanese, keep the character's way of speaking: their sentence endings, their politeness level, their name for others.
  • Try a few seeds and keep the take that sounds most in character.
  • Raise the speed slightly for energetic scenes.

Fan works and rights

Anime character voices are fan-made and not endorsed by the studios or voice actors. Use them for fan works, parodies and personal projects within the SuperClonica terms, and never pass the result off as the original voice actor. Commercial use needs the rights to the character.
