Adam AI voice: the ElevenLabs narrator and alternatives

Adam is one of the best-known AI voices on the internet: a deep, brooding American male voice heard in countless videos, shorts and stories. It comes from ElevenLabs, whose voice library lists it as “Adam - American, Dark and Tough” and describes a tough hero weathered by years of experience.

This guide explains where the Adam voice comes from, what to check before using it, and which deep narrator voices SuperClonica offers if you want a different sound or to work offline.

Where Adam comes from

Adam is a voice made by ElevenLabs and offered in its voice library. ElevenLabs is free to start, with paid plans for more characters; its page says Adam can be used in commercial projects, but you may not sell or license the tools or use the output to build competing products. Check the current terms on the ElevenLabs site.

Why it sounds so familiar

Because Adam is easy to reach and fits narration, it became a default choice for videos and short-form content. That popularity is also a downside: many channels sound alike, so a different deep voice can help yours stand out.

Deep narrator voices in SuperClonica

SuperClonica does not copy Adam; that voice belongs to ElevenLabs. Its catalog has narrator and announcer voices of its own, from a calm conversational narrator to energetic and game narrators, plus ten free stock voices, five of them male. Every voice page plays a line of 30 to 100 characters free, so you can compare them with your script.

Free and offline

Install the free engine with python -m pip install superclonica-cpu and voice a whole script on your computer: superclonica --text-file script.txt --voice M2 --lang en --output script.mp3. There is no per-character fee and no account, and the stock voices may be used commercially. For apps, the speech API has a free tier of 3 minutes a day.
