GUIDE

An Inworld and MiniMax TTS API alternative priced by the hour

Inworld and MiniMax sell some of the most talked-about text to speech APIs: expressive voices, many languages and instant voice cloning, priced per character. For apps that speak a lot, such as AI companions, voice agents, games with dialogue or long narration, the per-character bill grows with every line.

The SuperClonica speech API is priced by time instead: $5 a month gives up to 216 hours of audio used without a break. This guide compares the list prices per hour of audio, checked on the official pricing pages in October 2026, and says honestly when Inworld or MiniMax is the better choice.

Prices per hour of audio

A minute of speech is about 1,000 characters, so an hour is about 60,000 characters. At the list prices:

  • Inworld TTS-2 Flash: $15 per million characters on demand, about $0.90 an hour; $10 on the $25 Creator plan, about $0.60 an hour; sub-$5 on Enterprise.
  • Inworld TTS-2: $25 per million characters on demand, about $1.50 an hour; down to about $0.30 an hour on Enterprise.
  • MiniMax speech-2.8-turbo: $60 per million characters, about $3.60 an hour.
  • MiniMax speech-2.8-hd: $100 per million characters, about $6 an hour.
  • SuperClonica Starter: $5 a month for up to 216 hours, about $0.023 an hour when used to the limit.

What you get with SuperClonica

The API streams audio from about 300 ms in our measurements, voices long texts on several workers at once and works with any of 190 catalog voices or a voice you train from your own recording. A free key gives a minute of audio a day with no card, so you can test before paying. Plans differ only in seconds per 10-minute window: Starter 3 minutes, Author 8, Pro 20, Studio 65.

When Inworld or MiniMax fits better

Choose them when you need Chinese, which Supertonic 3 does not speak yet, a very wide language list, zero-shot cloning from a short clip at request time, or their most expressive models; and when your app speaks only a little each day, where a free allowance or pay-as-you-go can cost less than any plan. Listen to the voices of each on your own texts before deciding: voices differ more than prices.
